the next. big. thing.

The adrenaline rush of success is intoxicating, but it’s fleeting. You have to keep chasing it.

Every success has to be bigger than the last.

Success itself is not bad. Neither is the euphoria that comes with it.

I’m just saying that it can be deceptive. It can turn you into a driven person rather than a satisfied person.

If you are driven, then implicitly you are ceding control to something other than yourself.

It’s impossible to be at peace if you are continually in that state. It’s impossible to be satisfied.

It becomes harder and harder to pause and be grateful. Grateful for the people in your life. Grateful for the experiences you’ve had.

Grateful for waking up to another day.

Don’t rest on your laurels, says the voice in your head. Because it’s all about the next. big. thing.

Meanwhile, you ignore all the little things that make life so meaningful.
